TRUST, REDEFINED
Hi, I’m Darren.
As a lawyer, I do one thing, and I do it exceptionally well: I draft bulletproof estate plans.
Not off-the-shelf. Not copy-paste. Bulletproof.
That takes time, precision, and focus, which is why I don’t dabble in five other areas of law like other firms to look “full service.” I do one thing so I can do it right. And it starts with listening.
I take the time to understand your story — your family, your values, your legacy — then craft a custom plan that uses the full force of the law to keep your assets exactly where they belong: in your hands, and your family’s future.
You won’t find ivory tower lingo here. You’ll find clear advice, fast execution, and real respect for the gravity of what you’re trying to do.
Get in touch today for a free 30-minute consultation to find out what real trust is all about.
What I Do
Estate planning is a personal and emotional process. I move quickly and decisively on your behalf, but always with tact, empathy, and a clear focus on what matters most: your goals.
-
Consultations are free and capped at 30 minutes. The consultation gives me enough time to understand your core needs and determine whether we’re the right match. If we are, I’ll send you my retainer agreement and a detailed estate planning questionnaire through my secure digital portal.
-
Once I receive your completed intake, I review everything with a sharp eye toward your personal, legal, and tax priorities and start mapping the most effective options to protect your legacy and loved ones.
-
We meet — via video, phone, or in person — for a focused one-hour attorney-client session. I walk you through your tailored options, clarify your intentions, and together, we decide on a plan of action.
-
I draft your estate plan using WealthCounsel — the Ferrari of estate planning platforms, trusted by elite firms nationwide. Then we meet one final time to review and sign your plan and notarize what’s needed. I provide you with immediate hard copies and follow up with digital.
I was born to parents who were 57 and 44 years old – needless to say, I was a bit of a surprise. Planning wasn’t optional in my house; it was done with a sense of urgency. Retirement. Pensions. Medical decisions. Who gets what.
I saw early on how a well-crafted estate plan can create peace — and how the lack of one can cause chaos.
As an adult, I decided to become a legal advocate for families like mine. I put myself through part-time evening law school while helping raise my two children and working full-time, graduating #1 in my class.
Along the way, I helped my mother update her trust after my father passed at 94. I worked for 20 years in public service with people from all walks of life in public libraries and at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I published books and optioned scripts to major film studios, giving me deep insight into the unique financial and legal needs of creatives, executives, and professionals in film and TV.
Simply put, I’m on a mission to give my clients, no matter what their situation or income, the same peace of mind my family gave me.
Estate planning isn’t about paper; it’s about people.
Let’s protect yours.
